There have recently been added 2 feeds broadcasting ATC from British ATC centres (although for some reason they are listed under EIDW - Dublin). As far as I am aware broadcasting live ATC transmissions that originate from the UK is strictly banned and liveatc.net has always respected this indeed having promptly taken down such feeds in the past. Why has liveatc.net now reneged from its previous position in this matter?

They do not originate in the UK.

That is a spurious response to put it mildly. The controllers are based in the UK, transmitting to aircraft in UK airspace. To say that because you've maybe got a user based in Ireland picking up those transmissions and filing it under EIDW somehow means that they didn't originate from Britain is pure cynicism.

We've reviewed the laws for this particular situation and believe there is no law being infringed. The alleged infraction is not occurring in the U.K., and the transmitters are not in the U.K. and Ofcom laws do not apply.

There are so many other sites that broadcast UK ATC and other countries that have issues as Dave mentioned so this stupid EU/UK law of banning broadcasts are moot. We have other than here
GlobalTuners
Receiverbook(WEB SDRS/OpenWebSDRS)
&
Remotehams

This entire fiasco of banning ATC broadcasts is ridiculous and futile .

Bad enough CPDLC is killing our hobby .
