Southwest 137 (help requested)
« on: November 19, 2023, 11:51:46 AM »
Hi,
I was on SWA137 on Nov 11 when we had to do a go around at 8:45 AM. The flight was the 6 am flight from Pittsburgh to Orlando. I was hoping to find thr audio of what happened, but am struggling on which feed to listen to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I'm assuming the go-around was at Orlando.  The times referenced in the archives are all in UTC.  8:45am eastern time is 13:45 UTC.  So you would have to locate the Orlando tower feed on that date and at 13:30 UTC.

Your first and second approach was onto runway 35R so you should have been able to hear it on the Orlando Tower East (118.450) archive. However there seems to be a reception problem with this feed and nothing could be heard. Listening to the Orlando Approach Final (127.750) archive at the same time the controller advises that a couple of flights have been doing go arounds due to "low layers on short final" (low ceiling), at which point SWA137 checks on advising they will try the approach again.
