Record Itunes feed

I'm trying to record a feed that I can here on Itunes.  I am using Audacity software.  I can get it to record but it records from my speakers.
If I turn up the volume of Itunes I can hear it but if I lower the volume it doesn't record.  It seems it's not recording directly it's just picking up the outside exterior speaker volume.  Can someone help me out?

My ultimate goal is to record and create a mp3 and listen to the recorded feeds on my IPOD.

Are you trying to record a LiveATC feed?   If so, there is no need for you to record the feed because almost all LiveATC feeds are recorded automatically by the feed archive process and stored in 1/2 hour duration MP3 files here: http://www.liveatc.net/archive.php

Download several MP3 files from your favorite feed's archive and copy the files to your iPod for your listening pleasure.
