Questions
« on: April 09, 2008, 11:12:33 AM »
Ok 1st I am new here and I like it. But I'm trying to record some of this chatter. I'm using the KCLE feed and I live maybe 20 miles from the airport itself. But I only get about half their voices clear as day the rest come in with static in the background. Now this doesn't really go well with the recording cause I can't have this static with the recording. So I'm wondering if its me doing something wrong or what. If its not is there anyway I can eliminate this static or are there airports without any static.

2nd I caught the end of CLE TWR radio in that they needed two wheelchairs. Shortly after 11 A.M. est I was wondering if anyone else heard this and knew what was going on.

Not sure what you are asking...are you listening on your own scanner radio or on the site's Cleveland feed?
Since you tell us how far you are then I assume you are listening on your own radio, correct?

Dave

If you are listening to the feed on this site then you are listening to audio provided by a remote receiver.  The only things that would affect reception are particular to that receiver and its location; your location relative to the airport doesn't have anything to do with it.  Many factors affect reception and it can vary throughout the day and night.

Hope this helps.

But I'm trying to record some of this chatter.

Are you aware that LiveATC has a rolling 30-day archive of just about all feeds offered here?  If not, save yourself the work and get these prerecord 30 minute blocks of your favorite feed in MP3 format here:  http://www.liveatc.net/archive.php

The previous half hour clip is usually available a few minutes after the top and bottom of every hour.
