Question about hosting a feed.

<< < (2/2)

PHL Approach:
I have talked to my friend Kurt about running a feed, he lives about 8 miles from IAD. The only problem is that he is an executive for a corporation, so he's not around enough to maintain it and I cant stay in contact with him. I'll give it another shot. I agree, some Potomac feed's would be awesome. We just need to get IAD/BWI/DCA. And we would get all the northeastern Bravo's.

Hey guys!,

Thanks for all the help with this feed. I'm looking around at several antennas as we speak. I'll keep you posted as I make progress.

The only question I have is, I would need more than one scanner to be tuned into more than one frequency right? So if I want to tune

133.975

126.875

at the same time, that would require two seperate scanners?

Im thinking of using this antenna:

Thanks,

PHL Approach:
No not at all. Everyone here scans more than one freq. For instance you can get scanners that can scan 1000 channels/frequencies. Like the RadioShack Pro-95. The only time you would need to have two scanners, was if you picked up two busy airports or say a couple freqs at a tracon and a couple freqs at the airport. And you want to split them so listeners will be able to hear App/Dep or Twr/Gnd/Del. For instance the Kennedy/ LaGuardia feeds. One person runs all three. NY App for JFK, Kennedy twr/gnd and Ny App for LGA and LGA Twr. They do that because those freqs are so busy, that if you combined JFK Twr with NY App. You would probably pick up one more than the other.

Take it easy,

Thanks for the reply guys!

So I think I understand this right:

I will only need one scanner to host BWI Clearence, for example. But if I wanted to host Clearence and Approach I would need two. Thanks again for the help.

PHL Approach:
If you only are having two freqs, no just stick with one scanner. And besides hooking up two scanners is a pain cause you need to split them and also it's hard on the wallet cause you would need two scanners, two soundcards, splitter etc, etc....
