Plane enters restricted area
« on: April 23, 2006, 17:31:40 UTC »
At about 10:29 local, I was picking up (I think) an F-16 broadcasting on 121.500 telling an aircraft he has entered restricted airspace. I haven't found it in the archives yet, but It should eventually be there.

Just took a look at the current TFRs. Looks like there was some VIP Movements just to the west/ northwest of you.

The President has been in California the past couple days - it was probably Air Force One.

It is. He was due to give a speech at Univ. of California Irvine today, probably putting him in at Camp Pendleton, Orange County, or Long Beach. He just flew out of NorCal today.

BL.

And He wast at LAS Yesterday (4-25-06)  I was scanning everything I can with 2 handhelds and 1 online scanner.  Tracked ATC on the CPU Too bad he was Air Force 1 Type 757... BOOOO we want the big one....  Airspace closed the second he was at 10,000ft.  Everyone was Holding I believe at DAG (in CA) and Boulder CIty (if alrerady in the pattern)  North Las Vegas AIrport was obviously Closed during his entire stay (too many student pilots with camera's.  ANd I forgot about checking Nellis Frequency's.  Sorry.  But yeah... Probably had a few F-16's in the MOA's upo north hanging out, and THe Rescue Squadron on STandby whenever the President in within Range.  (Meaning 2 Birds are Loaded with litters, raft, flares, and trauma eqipment.)  And on standby (wamred up)  No one else gets this treatment.  (Or atleast that is what we did in 2001)  Only here for 2 hours and closed off 4 cuty blocks for the whole time, and shut downn entire casino floor (Venetian)  What fun it was.  Good thing I was off Yesterday.  :-)

Do you have a recording of the Air Force One transmissions?
