As the owner of (and press contact for) the site, I get flooded with requests every time there is a significant incident like this. Smaller incidents usually draw only local press.
Over time you learn how to be very specific with them, because:
1) They seldom understand anything to do with air traffic control or flying. So pertinent things need to be pointed out (what is a TRACON, tower, who was the pilot talking to at what time, etc.).
2) They frequently credit us as liveatc.com. We are liveatc.net. I am very specific about that one, to the point of insulting them. Why? Because so many of them get it wrong. That has improved things.
The other issue, and one I scolded two major news outlet for, is not giving credit for your sources at all. There seems to be a new wave of reports and producer who, in the rush of it all, just skip things like crediting sources. This is probably not new behavior, though. Who will ever believe your news broadcasts if they don't know where the information is coming from? To their credit, they fixed the problem. But frequently it is too late to fix. The web reports fix a lot of this because it is dynamic content that can be fixed. TV, not so much.
So probably more than you wanted to hear, but I thought it would interest some of the audience here and it felt good to spread more information on the topic.
