Kennedy twr keeps on using the word "super" as in "northwest *** your traffic is a super 80..."....I am working while listening, and cant seem to catch what he is saying until I hear the word super.....so the A380 isnt back in the US is it??

Anybody have any idea??

i always thought that they were referring to the super MD-80's  could be wrong though

Probably referring to MD80... Super just rolls off the tongue easier I'd say.

And is actually the name of the aircraft as well. The MD-81/82/83/8 were all marketed as the "DC-9 Super 80", then later simply the "Super 80" by McDonnell Douglas.

Yup its the Super 80, not to be confused with the 717, which is an MD-80 having an identity crisis.

Hmmm Always thought "Super 80" was just an American Airlines thing kinda like "Luxury Liner". Learn something new everyday.  :-D
