CYQB Tower/Montreal Center Feed
« on: May 03, 2010, 09:16:48 PM »
If the person who operates the "CYQB Tower/Montreal Center" feed happens to check the forum here ?

You have 135.025 (Orleans sector) listed as one of the frequency's being scanned, AFAIK they don't use this frequency anymore and have replaced it with 123.925 for the high altitude (FL290 and above) airspace over the YQB area. I was just wondering if you could add 123.925 to the scanner ? You might be able to get the controller on this frequency ? This sector is usually linked via relay with 133.225 so if you can get the controller on 123.925 you would have good coverage of that sector to the south as well. Just a suggestion. Cheers, great feed. DJ

Jetscan, while I'm not the scanner, your info is not correct. 135.02 is a low level sector east of Quebec terminal. Its altitudes are listed correctly. All three Montreal Centre frequencies are for airspace FL280 and below and all 3 are actual sectors, sometimes combined, sometimes split, but in a seperate specialty from the 2 frequencies you mention in your post, which are high level sectors... Adding them would ruin the feed in my opinion because all you would hear are high level flights and you would get less of the terminal and sectors bordering the terminal. Perhaps someone will start a new feed for those 2 frequencies you mentionned because they cover ALOT of high level traffic...

Okay thanks, I didn't know that, they used to use 135.025 for the high altitude sector, I had wondered if they were now using it for something else.

Fair enough. What I was thinking was remove the Terminal frequency as it's already covered on the other Quebec feed. But I can see your point, the present configuration provides ideal coverage of Quebec City arrivals and departures.

This would be the way to go. (I can donate a radio if there is someone available to provide the feed ?). I'm wondering if you can even hear the controller on 123.925 in the Quebec City area ? The transmitter site is listed as St. Adrian ?
