CM804 PTY > JFK

My brother in law was on flight (friday the 5th) CM804 PTY > JFK - Departing at 08:30PM.

Around an hour into the flight an elderly man had a heart attack and apparently it was quite an ordeal, I wanted to see if I could find the ATC log but I'm not sure who they would have checked in with? Any thoughts on that?

All I could find was that the flight arrived 10 mins late...

The flight was a B737-800, operated by COPA Airlines.

COPA 804 is a codeshare flight with Continental, the COA flight number is 9080.

I don't know much about COPA Airlines, but I'm guessing they are owned in some way by COA...check out the pic below...this is COPA B737-8V3 HP-1532CMP (cn 35068/2343)...they bare a striking resemblance to the Continental Airlines livery...

Below is the audio from the landing...nothing mentioned about any medical situation at all...seems business as usual. Not sure what happened to the gentleman...hope he's ok...

Yah, COPA is owned by Continental apparently... who knew.. it's a spanish airline I think.

My bro in law mentioned the guy went into CA and they called for a doctor, there was on on the flight, they pulled out the paddles and did some defibrillation and held him till the flight landed.. I'm not sure why the pilot didn't ask for medical crews at the gate? Seems a little odd.... don't they have to call that kinda thing in?

You would think so...

There wasn't any additional traffic at that time...they were the only flight KJFK was handling...only other traffic in the area around that time was a NYPD helicopter.

I hope he's ok...

Copa is a Panamanian airline that flies into JFK nightly. MPTO os where they usually depart from but I'm not sure if they're owned by COA or not.
