Clearance Delivery?
« on: May 12, 2009, 12:40:24 AM »
First let me preface this thread by saying that I am eternally grateful for all the feeders on this site and that my question/opinion is in no way meant to be criticism. I just wanted to get some opinions on this. I listen to the BDL Hartford/Springfield, CT feed a lot. I also try to listen to myself on the archives to better polish my radio communication skills. This is the issue I have is, when I am listening live or trying to listen to my own archived recordings, it always seems to get interrupted by clearance delivery.

For the BDL feed, all the departure/approach, tower, ground, and clearance delivery freqs. are on the same feed. Is this common for most of the feeds here? and What is your opinion on having clearance delivery on the same feed as the rest of the freqs.? My personal opinion is that, it's annoying and I could really do without it, but again that's just my opinion and don't want to criticize this awesome feed. Just wanted some opinions.

It is common for some feeds when they don't have the resources for 4 or 5 receivers to cover everything.  I can see if the BDL feeder will drop Clearance off.  We have debated many times here about multiple frequencies vs. one frequency and the audience is pretty split on the issue.  But Clearance (and Ground) are seldom very interesting so I will see if both can be locked out.

Wow Dave thanks a lot, that would be awesome. Although, I don't want to impose on anybody.
