I'm getting a scanner soon, I will see if I can pick up anything at PHX.

Umm... While it is down, it hsould be noted that there is a KPHX feed here, plus we are fortunate to have someone on this forum who works at the PHX TRACON. I am sure that those running the feed and the controller in question will speak up in due time. :)

Yes, yes indeed.

Here is my response in the other forum (which I meant to post in the feed status forum.)

"Hello everyone, I am sorry to inform you that the Phoenix feed will most likely be down for about 2 weeks. It should be up, fully operational and running by July 9th though. It is due to the reason that I am currently in Kentucky, and even though my desire to keep the feed up for my two weeks here has succeeded for the first 3 days, unfortunately, the lack of computer skills my parents has, has made that impossible. I myself am very disapointed in this, as I enjoy listening to the P50 controllers like LH hard at work. But, feed reliability is not always 100%.

Again, I am sorry, but I will keep on trying to get the feed back up and running."

And regarding pictures, I posted some pics of my set up a while back ago, but for some reason I am unable to find it. Anyways it is a Grove Scanner Beam Antenna II with a Radio Shack PRO-94 scanner.

And then:

"A bit of an update. By way of talking to my sister (a bit more computer literate), we got it up and running. So that is good news. The bad news is that I am no longer there to pester everyone to keep the computer up and running, so there might be some feed outages.  But hopefully not very much :) "

Love the feed cactushp. I get to rag on LH whenever i catch a slip now (despite it being rare). About how far from Sky Harbor are you located? The feed usually comes in pretty well

I believe I am PXR043R 6.4 DME. Not very far, but there are some obstructions in the way, like small hills that really get in my way.

I'm about 18 DME from PHX.  I can can only receive weak controller transmissions on a couple of frequencies.  NL- If anyone knows I'm not perfect, its you.  Still good luck finding my mistakes on frequency.  I'm pretty smooth at covering them up.

Any possible chance of getting a PHX Tower feed? I loved the AZ Central one that they had up, because it would scan all of the frequencies at PHX and remained mostly on Tower. I would love to hear my tower guys again ;)

I wish I could, but I can only pick up south departure (santan) and south vfr (pima) with any desirable quality. If the transmitters were more powerful, I would certainly tune into the tower.

You have to get a contact close to the airport. I remember I talked to Mike about getting something setup at Cutter.

I live about 12 miles from PHX.  Live 2 miles from KFFZ so I can only pick up approach, and a weak tower.  And I can only hear the aircraft.  But I just want to pick up the lingo the pilots use.  Some of it is really funny, and it boosts the controllers moral you can tell.

maybe I should.  Only I fly out of falcon 2-3 times a week.  And sometimes I fly over PHX :-D.  Maybe I have heard you before.

But from my house, I can only pick up ATIS, but if I move a little bit closer, I can pick up everything.
