Two people were injured Sunday when a plane crashed in northeast Harris County, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

Gonzalez said the plane went down near a railyard close to the intersection of Beaumont Highway and Adlong Johnson Road.

Gonzalez said the pilot and passenger survived the crash and were taken to an area hospital via Life Flight.

According to FlightAware, the plane left West Houston Airport at 1:57 p.m. and landed in Baytown at 2:25 p.m. From there, it took off again at 3:47 p.m. and was scheduled to land in Crosby at 4:33 p.m.

The crash site was near Dunham Field in Crosby. Life Flight was called to the scene at 5:15 p.m.

It's unclear what caused the plane to crash.
