United Flight Sees Unusual Lights in the Skies Over Virginia

On Oct 18, UAL673 was at FL360 southbound near Charlottesville Virginia when the flight crew spotted unusual lights in the sky at their altitude.  The crew decided to bring it to the attention of ATC.... Hmmmm.... what could that have been??

(sry, only have pilot side of conversation...)
