HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu Ocean Safety responded to a helicopter that had made a “precautionary landing” on a small island near the Honolulu Airport Saturday morning.

Honolulu EMS officials say the incident happened just after 10:00 a.m.

A statement from the vice-president of Rainbow Helicopter reads as follows:

“On Saturday, October 28th, a helicopter made a precautionary landing. There were no injuries to the passengers or to the pilot. The helicopter was not damaged, nor was there any damage to any property in the landing area. Safety is our top priority at Rainbow Helicopters and our pilot exercised good safety management.”

“This was just not what we consider to be a major incident, but we respond like it could be.”

Ocean Safety has no further information on the incident.

It’s not the first time a pilot with the company has made a “Precautionary Landing”

In 2022, one of its helicopters had to land in an empty parking lot at Aloha Stadium.
