PBSO Helicopter Pilot new term for rate of climb
« on: December 13, 2023, 06:24:47 AM »
Was headed home yesterday, with LiveATC on my home International (KPBI), and for some reason, found this very humorous.
It's a short clip, but two words are stuck in my head forever from the Chopper Pilot.

The Eagle group is the Palm Beach Sheriff office's airborne group, and are based out of PBI.
PBI this time of year has a lot of private jet traffic, so for the helicopter folk, it can be busy departing or arriving.

In this clip, Eagle II was returning and had to hold north of Runway 10L as a Lear was taking off before he could cross and come back to the pad.
When the controller gave him the go ahead to come in (they have to cross the runway path), instructed him to go behind the Lear.

The chopper Pilot's description of the Lear's departure was priceless, yes even in two words.

Thanks for the chuckle PBSO, and for what you do.
