Yeah, sounds like the controller had everything running fine. Continental said it didn't look good. Controller thought pilot was talking about the approach/winds. He started to go around, then mentioned they could still make it if other guy rolled, but too late. That's what I got out of it. I guess it goes back to the other separation thread. Let the controllers do the separating for the most part. But the pilot is always welcome to go around if he thinks an unsafe situation is arising though.
