JAL516 Collision at Tokyo's Haneda Airport
« on: January 02, 2024, 08:21:16 AM »
At about 3:47am eastern time, JAL516 had apparently just landed on runway 34R at Tokyo's Haneda Airport when it collided with another aircraft on the ground.  All passengers on the A350 survived but 5 crew members on the Japan Coast Guard plane did not survive.  The airport continued operations on runway 34L for a short time but eventually the airport closed.

Note: Apologies, the original posted audio file was incorrect; the correct one is now posted.  If anyone downloaded the original audio file, the Tokyo accident is the last 56 seconds of that file.  Sorry for any inconvenience :)

Attached is edited audio. Signal reception from my receivers at Haneda were marginal at time of incident.

Audio includes go arounds for 34R and announcement by the Tower Controller that the Airport is closed.

Second audio file includes comms with Haneda Operations with multiple aircraft discussing diverts to alternate airports. (In Japanese)
