Delta Galley Fire
« on: December 14, 2010, 18:07:09 UTC »
Delta flight from JFK to Tel Aviv had a galley fire on Saturday night. 399 souls on board. I thought I'd see threads about it here. The call sign escapes me at the moment.

Thank you. Delta's had quite a few situations on JFK departures lately.

Guess what?  (hmm you can't), I have an LG (heavy duty) microwave at my home, one with light that suppose to heat up things 4 times faster, but when I add my watt meter between the wall outlet and the microwave I found out that the rotation disc at start is using over 3100 watts and as it finally rotates it reduces to 2100 Watts, so my guess is that microwaves at startup use a lot more than should be. I don't exactly know about airplane microwaves, but I call it peak current problems and in some occasions with my Surgemaster II in between the wall outlet and the microwave the (thermal)fuse just pops every now and then.

anyone know more about this in airplanes?
