I love your videos, but I wish we had a cockpit view so we can see what you're doing. Those of us who are still learning could benefit from having that view. Have you checked out the HD cams available from Nflightcam? Very easy to mount. I purchased one to record my lessons when I finally get into the cockpit again. It's been six years since I took lessons last and I just decided to go for my sport certificate. I'm really excited about it.
BTW, I LOVED the videos you posted with the ATC girl. Her excitement had me smiling through most of the videos. It must be a great feeling to introduce newbies to flying. I did it a few times while I was taking lessons the first time.
And Dave, GREAT site you have here. As a radio buff, I love it.
Appreciate the very kind compliments and feedback av8er71!
The main reason I don't incorporate a second camera is I want the videoing as transparent in my flying process as possible. I made a lame attempt on doing a second camera but since I only have point and shoot flavors for cameras and I can't see the camera view finder I put a nix to it since it added an unnecessary distraction factor...
You are correct, lipstick camera's are the way to go but I also like the idea the viewer feels like they are in the plane. A classic video of me videoing the panel can be seen at
where I execute an instrument approach under VMC conditions.
My hope in that video as well as all my videos, is that one gets the real feel of what it takes to fly an airplane since I point the camera where my attention needs to be all the while, flying the plane and listening to ATC instructions..
Good for you on you going for your sports rating! Hope you acheive that goal shortly!
