I looked up the MEL for the 737-900 and it was not clear to me that they could wire the engine cowl valve open in addition to the wing. It gets complicated and depends upon ambient temperature, which of course is much warmer down there. Also involves climb weight and EPR restrictions. Anyway, as usual, they lived.
