My best friend's brother works at Logan and he said that the male controller in the clip is this new phenom they have. That controller's father has worked at LGA for years, and that he has been sitting at the scopes watching people work traffic for years. Apparently he is so naturally talented, they only could think of one person with the skill-set to match and train him, and that was our very own, Boston John, which is why he wasn't on the air for so long. He is admired by his coworkers so much as a result of certifying in a record 6 weeks, that they've labeled him "Boston Gregg," and he has been given the torch from Boston John to carry on for the next generation of controllers at Boston. I also heard that it was a direct result of his calm demeanour and quick problem solving that kept these two aircraft from hitting. He said there was so much behind the scenes during this mishap that you don't hear, people panicking and whatnot, but B.G. saved the day, and is now up for a federal save award for this incident. I think it is great that we are watching a budding superstar grow in front of us, and I thank Logan management for recognizing the talent they had and matching him up with the only controller worthy of such a task, Boston John.
