ASA1162 was climbing out of Portland International when a birdstrike event occured, promoting the Boeing 737 MAX 9 to return. The aircraft landed around 15 minutes after departure. As of February 15 2024 at 0835 UTC, the MAX 9 is still on the ground at Portland.
