AAL24 at SFO - Security Threat
« on: August 19, 2010, 08:01:16 PM »
AAL 24 from SFO to JFK was lined up waiting to take off from SFO when they were directed off the runway to a remote area of the airport due to a reported hijacking threat.

Heavily edited audio covers ground and tower activity until the aircraft was switched to an alternate ground frequency not covered by any of the SFO feeds.  It's clear that the crew had little indication of exactly what was going on for quite awhile.

Very interesting. I can only imagine what was going through the pilot's minds while this was going on.
