CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — 2 men were taken to the hospital after a small plane crashed at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Wednesday morning, the Chattanooga Fire Department.
Authorities later said the two injured passengers were 'alert,' and said the airport was closed for about 30 minutes. The accident happened at about 10 a.m. at the north end of the airport.
"We have an open door, we want to return back to the airport."
An open airplane door leading to multiple landings requests...

"Hold short runway 20 for landing craft."
Finally granted by air traffic control, but still leading to landing problems.

"Having trouble hearing ya."
These snippets of audio, courtesy of ATC Live, reveal the moments of a plane crash at the Chattanooga airport.

After experiences difficulties, the plane crashed, hurting the two men onboard.

The website Flight Aware shows the plane is registered to an address in Chattanooga. Its flight log also says the duration of the flight departing Chattanooga lasted 7 minutes.

The airport says a crew will remove the airplane from the site, once the investigation is complete.
