Two people are dead following a plane crash in Limestone County, according to Limestone County Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin and Limestone County Coroner Mike West.
Chief Michael Carter with the Elkmont Volunteer Fire Department says crews are responding to the scene where a plane crashed in a cotton field on Highway 127 at the intersection of Witty Mill Road.
Carter says two people were on board.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the crash occurred in Elkmont about 11:57 a.m. Monday.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and is responding. The FAA says the plane was a twin engine Beech E-95.
