(wow video !!!)

A Texas pilot is lucky to be alive after his plane clipped a streetlight, sending the aircraft crashing onto the highway below.

According to reports, the incredible video was taken on Saturday in Winnie, Texas. The plane took off from Highway 124, clipped a streetlight, and sent the vessel to the ground.

Local reports say the plane had been used in a parade as a float. So the pilot decided he would take off from the street to return home.

Luckily, the pilot was not injured in the crash. However, the street was closed for several hours.

The cause of the crash is currently being investigated, but it is believed windy conditions may have contributed to the pilot losing control.

A Spirit Airlines Airbus A320-200N, registration N922NK performing flight NK-3044 from Atlantic City,NJ to Fort Lauderdale,FL (USA), was accelerating for takeoff from Atlantic City's runway 31 when the crew rejected takeoff at low speed (about 60 knots over ground) advising they had a bird strike into the right hand engine (PW1127G) and were stopping on the runway. The aircraft slowed safely and stopped on the runway about 550 meters/1800 feet down the runway, tower queried whether the aircraft needed any assistance, the crew replied "roll the trucks please". A short while later tower advised there appeared to be fire underneath the engine. The crew acknowledged, the fire bell was audible in the background of that transmission, and about a minute later advised they were evacuating the aircraft. There were no injuries.

The airline reported a large bird entered one of the engines, the crew braked safely and brought the aircraft to stop, received indication of engine damage and ordered an evacuation in line with standard operating procedures.

Videos show the aircraft was evacuated through the left hand forward and left hand aft main doors using slides.

On Oct 4th 2021 it emerged, that an entire fan blade had fractured at its root and separated.

MIAMI, Fla. (AP) — Police say a passenger on an American Airlines flight that landed at Miami International Airport opened an emergency door and walked on the wing as the plane reached the terminal.

Flight 920 from Cali, Colombia, had just landed in Miami Wednesday night when the incident happened.

American Airlines said in a statement that "the customer was immediately detained by law enforcement."

Aviation Accidents/Incidents / JETBLUE BIRD STRIKE AFFECTS A321’S AIR DATA

(looking for the audio)

After suffering a bird strike, a JetBlue Airbus lost some of its automation and instruments, because of where the bird struck the aircraft. The incident happened on Friday, the 24th of September. It involved flight B6-1401, from New York’s JFK to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood (KFLL) in Florida, USA. It’s a routine flight for JetBlue crews, but in this case, it got in trouble before it even left the ground. The flight took off from runway 31L at JFK. Air traffic control was not aware of the bird strike or any other issues with the flight until the JetBlue crew were in their climb. The pilots asked for a hold at 12,000 feet, to do some troubleshooting. They later informed ATC that they had a bird strike, “about 3 quarters down the runway” before they took off.  Unfortunately, the bird strike had affected a number of the JetBlue Airbus’ probes. This could refer to the pitot tubes, that provide the pilots AND systems with airspeed information. Or it could refer to angle of attack (AoA) indicators or both. The aircraft has several of each. However, the damage was severe enough to affect a lot of the aircraft’s automation.

Evaluating their options after the bird strike, the JetBlue crew decided to return to JFK. They did so 90 minutes after departure. There is no report on the actions of authorities at the airport. But presumably, they had time to inspect the runway, for remnants of the unfortunate bird(s). The JetBlue flight landed on runway 31L, the same one they took off from.

It took at least an hour to free the pilot as the single-engine biplane hung with its nose pointed straight down in Waycross, near the Georgia-Florida line. WAYCROSS, Ga. (AP) — Emergency responders rescued the pilot of a small plane left dangling above the ground Thursday after it crashed into power lines in south Georgia. It took at least an hour to extricate the pilot as the single-engine biplane hung with its nose pointed straight down in Waycross near the Georgia-Florida line, news outlets reported.

The Ware County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that the plane struck the power lines and became tangled at about 10:15 a.m. It said the crash happened about a mile (1.6 kilometers) from the county’s small airport.

Emergency responders rescued the pilot, but had to wait until they could be sure that power had been shut off to the lines.

“The pilot is responsive,” the sheriff’s office’s statement said.

The website poweroutage.us says only a few dozen Ware County homes and businesses were without electricity Thursday afternoon.
