Here is some maps

Transmitters of sweden ctrl is remotely controlled, mostly from Arlanda. The transmitter used....cant find any more logic than the one near the region of the aircraft is selected by the controller.
On weekends and holidays, more sectors are combined into fewer frequencies which if we are lucky can produce more talk on the radio.

I dont use the docker project, i build it and run it "as is". Have a good weekend  :-)

Nice! Yeah I like to listen to KLM coming in, when they just enter Sweden its a bit scratcy but certainly possible to listen to. Also quite a bit up toward the Stockholm area. I have not been able to find any maps regarding how the ATC zones etc look like here in Sweden. But some Sweden control is crystal clear while there is some that are either barely audible, just noise or you only hear the aircrafts side of the conversation and never the controller. I am assuming that different zones of "Sweden control" transmits from different locations and that is why?

Are you using the RTLSDR-Airband project directly or using the docker project? I hang out in the SDR Enthusiasts discord server and have seen some discussions regarding Airband, seems a bit tricky to setup. I myself only listen for ADS-B which is much easier to setup, especially now with all the well-made docker containers.

Anyways, thanks for the work. And have a good weekend.

Listener Forum / Re: ZLA Sector 31- can hear pilots but not the controller.

It also appears that during less busy hours, Sectors 09, 12, 30, and 31 (at least) are combined and handled by the same controllers. However, weirdly, I can hear the controller's communication on the Sector 09 frequency but a lot of times pilots are responding to him on the Sector 30 frequency. How does that happen?

Quite a few ZLA ARTCC sectors don't have a feed right now. Seeing as it is one of the highest-traffic airspace in the country, it would be nice to have broader coverage. Are there plans to have more feeds that cover these missing sectors?

Some sectors that would be nice to have are 14, 22, and 26.

In the last 3 weeks that I have been listening to this feed, initially, I could hear communication both ways. Then it changed to where I could only hear the pilots. Now, I can hear mostly the controller, maybe sometimes the pilots, but a lot of heavy static.

I don't know if the location of the transceiver changed. Are feed providers regularly checked for quality?

Aviation Audio Clips / United 777 lost a tire after takeoff at SFO
« Last post by Squawk 7700 on March 07, 2024, 05:51:13 PM »
A United Airlines flight 35 from San Francisco to Osaka lost a tire during takeoff. The ATC tower controller reported the issue to NorCal TRACON and Oakland Center. Runway 28 Right was temporarily closed, and multiple planes were instructed to "go around" until the tire was retrieved. The affected aircraft was diverted to LAX and landed safely.

Checked the audio archives for March 4 (I assume that's the day you're asking about)... there was no mention of why they did a go-around.  The tower feed scans a number of frequencies and it's possible that there may have been a reason given for the go-around but the scanner was stopped on another frequency when that happened.  Aside from that, the flight came around and landed a few minutes later.

Thanks a lot, will keep in mind!  :-)

I rent space in the tower from the tower owner, its just a bit south of Linköping. Indeed it works very well at this point, however as the environment changes, changes also need to be done to the config files of RTL Airband. Mainly the squelch levels needs continous trimming to keep the squelch from opening on random noise. Increasing the squelch level will decrease the range and vice versa. When KLM to Linköping can be heard about to enter Swedish airspace, transmitting near Copenhagen, then I know the level is about right.  :-D

The RTLSDR sticks that was first used, did not work nearly as well as the airspy hf+. The weak and strong signal handling of the hf+ is amazing. Also the preamp is switched to https://www.antennas.us/lnau-0122-648-Airband-Preamplifier.html

A friend of mine was onboard this flight and felt the manoveaur was intense and they fly A LOT this was not their first go-around..
I wonder how much information is it possible to find just for curiosity.
Thx
