Hi guys, I lowered my antennas so the controller side of the transmissions will be weak. They will be up until the inevitable happens! I think they will survive.

We do have one slot to try 120.5 - not sure what the reception will be like but we'll test it. Not sure we should make any changes at RJTT, though....even though there is some congestion the reception on that radio will be better.

We're kind of maxed out at Narita. The only way we are able to have as many channels there as we do is due to the ability of the SDR and software to provide multiple feeds when the frequencies are close enough. For each SDR we currently have a 2.5 MHz window. So it becomes a tradeoff.

In this case, getting rid of Clearance Delivery would not buy us anything since that SDR is already in use for other important channels.

At Narita we are also on the edge of being able to pick up Tokyo Control. The RJTT receiver is closer to those transmitters.

Thanks for the new RJAA feed and the RJTT feed !! Great coverage.

Just wondering about 121.650 (Clearance Delivery #1) on the RJAA feed, I know it's a published Clearance Delivery frequency, but checking some random archives it does not appear to be in use ? Anyone know if they ever actually use this frequency ? If not, any chance this radio/dongle could be used for maybe a more active frequency ? Maybe Tokyo control on 133.60 ?

Speaking of Tokyo Control, the RJTT feed covering Tokyo Control is excellent, very good controller and aircraft reception on 120.50, it's just this frequency is extremely busy and the feed tends to get overloaded and blocked with the other Control frequencies on there. Now that 125.90 is covered on the RJAA radio would it help if 125.90 was removed from the RJTT feed to help with congestion ?

Ideally 120.50 would be great as a stand alone frequency on the RJTT feed and another radio/dongle added for 133.70/123.70. If that is at all feasible on either feed I would be happy to donate to help out. With just a few more additions you could have all the Tokyo Control frequencies covered in that area too. Tokyo Control sector chart attached below for reference.

Thanks to the RJAA Narita Airport feeder!
Glad to see this one come up!

And the TJSJ feeds went down 3 hours before DAL431 made it there and turned around.. That would have been a great time to listen in on the feed.

Here's the last METAR reading before Irma hit:

We had the 0900Z recording from the secondary recording site (it hadn't back-filled the primary site yet) - but there is nothing on it. Maybe there were no radio transmissions or they were on frequencies we don't cover at CYAV.

That feed has intermittent connectivity - 0900Z is not the only missing archive. I will check to see if we have a backup from another site.

Listener Forum / CYAV Crash recording taken down?

There was a crash near St Andrews (CYAV) airport this morning but the recorded feed is unavailable. Trying to find the CYAV feed for today, September 7th, at 09:00Z but it is the only one that is unavailable.

thanks
