Listener Forum / The one freq archive I need & can't find @ KMCO
« Last post by Zoso on April 20, 2024, 01:30:40 PM »
I'm retired major airline guy and just trying to find an archive from today 4/20 of KMCO tower east, 118.45 I think, from 14:30Z - 15:00Z. When I search it comes up empty, so maybe it was not archived. My wife wanted me to explain something about a flight she was on and I would need more info before drawing conclusions.

ATLANTA — Delta Air Lines said it had to declare an emergency as it was landing at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

In a statement to Channel 2 Action News, the airlines said the crew on Delta Flight 2728 from Savannah to Atlanta noticed a “misalignment of some flaps on the aircraft” as it was coming in for a landing.

Delta said, “This is an uncommon occurrence but is a part of extensive flight crew training to manage through safely.”
The flight landed safely and managed to get to its gate a minute early, the airline said.

“Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people,” Delta said.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop advisory on Wednesday for Alaska Airlines, saying: "All Alaska mainline and subcarrier flights ground stopped."

In a separate statement, the FAA said the carrier "asked the FAA to pause the airline’s mainline departures nationwide." It did not provide a reason for the stoppage.  CNBC reported that the airline's system used to calculate weight and balance for flights was not functioning correctly.

Alaska Airlines and the FAA did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Responding to passenger complaints on social media platform X, the airline said it was working on getting people moving as soon as possible.

Shares of Alaska Air Group, which owns the airline, pared gains after the advisory, and were last up 2.2% at 11:13 ET (1513 GMT).
The FAA advisory said that flights for SkyWest, which provides regional service for Alaska Airlines and others, were excluded.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A small plane made an emergency landing in Kapiolani Park on Tuesday afternoon, in a spectacle that shocked bystanders and triggered a large response.

There were two people in the plane, and Honolulu EMS confirmed no one was injured.

The plane came to rest near the park’s bandstand fully intact.

Eyewitnesses said the landing was relatively smooth — but no less shocking.

“I thought, ‘No way, that’s an airplane in the middle of a park,’” said witness Mario Volk.

“It’s still surreal. I mean, I was happy to see that the pilot and the passenger both got out and were just walking around talking to the emergency officials. There was no real damage.”

Volk added that everyone was lucky that the park was relatively empty.

The plane made the landing about 3 p.m. after apparently experiencing engine trouble.
