A mother who gave birth to her first child on an airplane was reunited just days before Thanksgiving with the first responders who helped her safely deliver the baby.

Liliana Castañeda and her husband, Edgar Acevedo, were on a Delta Air Lines flight heading home to North Carolina from Mexico on Nov. 14 when Castañeda started having contractions. Her water broke an hour into the flight.A nurse on board helped Castañeda for more than three hours until the plane landed at the Atlanta International Airport."He was like 'Yeah the baby girl is coming, it's on its way.' And he was like 'Don't try to push, because if you push more the baby will come out.' So I held those contractions for like three hours and 30 minutes on the way here,” Castañeda said in a video posted on social media on Wednesday by the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, which responded to a 911 call from Delta alerting emergency authorities that Castañeda was in labor.

First responders rushed to the airport and waited for the plane to arrive at the gate.

"The airplane was coming in exceedingly fast, faster than normal, so we knew there was an emergency, we knew people were nervous,” said Juanita Nash, one of the people who greeted the plane.

As soon as Nash and other first responders were able to get inside the aircraft, they found Castañeda in the back of the plane, lying on the floor. After assessing the situation, emergency personnel decided to deliver the baby right there.

"I just pushed once and the baby girl came out crying," Castañeda said.

Baby Analia Acevedo Castañeda was born aboard Delta flight 1804, according to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department.  Once she did deliver, one of the flight attendants got on the microphone and she was able to say, 'Hey we have a baby girl,'" Nash said. "It was a special occasion."

Castañeda was expecting her baby to arrive on Dec. 23, "but she came out early," the mother told WRAL, NBC's affiliate in Raleigh, North Carolina.

"I was nervous at the same time and worried for her and the baby," Acevedo, Analia's father, told WRAL.

On Tuesday, the new parents met with Nash and other first responders who witnessed Analia's birth in Atlanta before the new family was able to return home to North Carolina for the holidays.

"Thank you to all the people that were in the airplane, like the EMS, the fire department, everybody who helped us," Castañeda added.

A father and his 13-year-old daughter who managed to survive a plane crash in the woods near Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport in Pennsylvania found themselves in a perilous situation as the temperature outside was dropping into the upper 30s.

The pair, who were not identified, took off from the airport on Sunday (November 14) evening in a two-seat, single-engine Cessna 150. The plane disappeared from radar shortly after takeoff, and officials began searching the heavily wooded area.

The United States Air Force Rescue Coordination Center provided assistance as rescue teams and roughly 30 other volunteers began a grid search of the woods, starting from the plane's last known location. The search was slow because it was dark and cold, and there was snow on the ground.

Once rescuers identified the pilot, they called his wife, who provided them with his cell phone number. They managed to ping the man's phone and discovered that his daughter had an iPad, which was transmitting a signal as well. Using that signal, they were able to locate the pair after nearly five hours.

When rescuers arrived, they found the two huddled together in a pre-hypothermic state. They were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and are expected to make a full recovery.

"The daughter saves both of them by using her iPad, and dad was cuddling the daughter to give her warmth because they were both exposed to the elements," Pennsylvania Police Sgt. John Richards said.

Officials said that it was a miracle they were able to find the two before they succumbed to the elements.

"From what I hear and see, you don't really hear of survivors, especially in the area that they crashed. It's very heavily wooded," Chief James Serafin with the Bear Creek Volunteer Hose Company told CNN. "They had to go through trees and everything else. It definitely was a miracle."

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.

President Joe Biden's first flight on the new $217 million presidential helicopter has been delayed because the Pentagon deemed the aircraft unreliable in an emergency and not 'operationally suitable.'The VH-92 helicopter program is a $5 billion project to build 23 aircraft replacing the aging fleet used by the president and other senior officials.

Lockheed Martin won the contract in 2014 after other aircraft makers dropped out.
The new presidential helicopter - with the call sign Marine One when carrying the president - was expected to be ready in July.
But on Tuesday, Bloomberg News reported that a testing report in September found it was 'failing to meet the reliability, availability or maintainability threshold requirements' set for it.

The Pentagon testing office found that its communications system did not 'adequately support timely, continuous and secure communications,' and tended to delay critical communications at the start of emergency missions.

Major Jorge Hernandez, a spokesman for the Marine aviation deputy commandant, told Bloomberg the VH-92 program office 'cannot speculate as to when' the White House will give approval to introduce the new helicopter.


The aircraft is slated to replace the current fleet of 11 Sikorsky VH-3D and eight VH-60N helicopters.
Dwight D. Eisenhower was the first president to use a helicopter in 1957. He wanted an easy way to get to his Pennsylvania summer home, an impractical for Air Force One - the president's plane.
Multiple models of aircraft have been used, arriving at the VH-3D which went into service in 1978 and the VH-60N in 1987.
Both models have been upgraded over the years, but the result has been an increasing weights to the point where an entirely new aircraft was needed.
The new VH-92 made its maiden flight in July 2017.
A test landing and take off at the White House a year later revealed other problems. It left behind scorch marks on the South Lawn grass, which the Navy determined was caused by the helicopter's exhaust.

Greg Kuntz, a spokesman for the Naval Air Systems Command at the time said that 'under certain conditions, the VH-92A exhaust can impact a grass landing zone.'

One possible solution was to place a protective mat on the landing area, although that was dismissed as impractical.

That test was conducted secretly.
But a year later President Donald Trump got a look at the new aircraft, when it made another test landing.
They were originally expected to enter service in 2020, but the date has slipped several times.
And in March, it emerged that the military and Lockheed Martin were still working on the scorching problem.

John Dorrian, a spokesman for Lockheed's Sikorsky aircraft division, was quoted by Bloomberg News as saying: 'Sikorsky continues to work closely with our customer to ensure the aircraft meets all operational requirements.'

Three people were killed when a small plane crashed in rural Nebraska.
Officials say that the pilot and two passengers were found dead when the plane went down near Chadron, Nebraska.Witnesses told investigators that they saw a fireball or explosion take place after the plane crashed, says the Dawes County Attorney’s Office.

Authorities say that the plane was found by emergency services in an area near the Chadron Municipal Airport.

The names of the victims have not yet been released by officials.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash of the six-passenger Cessna T310R aircraft.

Agency spokesman Peter Knudson said the plane had taken off from Chadron Municipal Airport when it crashed around a mile and a half away.

Antennas work best outdoors. But you do what you can do.

For multiple frequencies, how many SDRs depends on what the particular frequencies are and how you want them arranged.

A single SDR can be run in one of two modes: scan air multichannel. Scan works like a radio scanner and can scan for activity between multiple frequencies. The disadvantage is that while it stops on an active frequency, simultaneous transmissions on the other frequencies are blocked. Multichannel mode allows for multiple monitored frequencies (channels) but only within a 2.4 MHz “window”. So how many SDRs you need depends on what the frequencies actually are.

With multiple SDRs you also have to consider the fact that splitting the output of your antenna will cause signal loss. If that is an operational issue then you may have to consider the use of an amplified splitter to mitigate the loss. Several options are available at various price points but obviously things get more complicated and more expensive.
