SHOW LOW, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Officials say one person is dead and another is hurt after a plane crashed near Show Low on Wednesday evening. Investigators said the pilot of a single-engine Cessna 172 took off from Show Low Regional Airport and then crashed in a grass area near Show Low Creek around 6 p.m.

Timber Mesa Fire & Medical District confirmed one of the passengers died in the crash, and another was hurt. They were flown to a Phoenix-area hospital in critical condition. A photo from Navajo County officials shows a group of people huddled around debris with a helicopter nearby. It is unknown what caused the plane to go down. The investigation is ongoing.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — An aircraft crashed while attempting to land on a rural Alaska airstrip lined by trees, injuring all four people on board, officials said Wednesday.

Three people seriously hurt in Tuesday's crash at Dry Bay airstrip were sent to hospitals in Anchorage. A fourth person with minor injuries was treated in the nearby southeast Alaska community of Yakutat, the Coast Guard said in a statement.

The names of those injured weren't immediately released.

The crash occurred about 3 p.m. Tuesday as the Yakutat Coastal Airlines charter flight was attempting to land on the airstrip, said Clint Johnson, head of the Alaska division of the National Transportation Safety Board. The flight had originated from Yakutat.  The de Havilland DHC-3 fixed-wing single-engine airplane crashed short of the runway in tree-covered terrain, Johnson said. The NTSB will investigate the cause of the crash.

The Dry Bay airstrip is about 30 miles (48 kilometers) southeast of Yakutat.

The Coast Guard was informed of the crash by an emergency locator transmitter alert and by calls from the public.

A Coast Guard helicopter from Sitka arrived on scene and took two people with “critical back issues” to Yakutat, the Coast Guard statement said. Another person with breathing issues was taken to Yakutat by that city’s police department.

The Coast Guard then flew all three to Anchorage for treatment in an HC-130 Hercules airplane from Kodiak.

Palm Beach Post

WEST PALM BEACH — Palm Beach County leaders honored five air traffic control employees Monday morning for their "heroic" roles in instructing a passenger with no flying experience to land safely at Palm Beach International Airport on May 10.

Air traffic control specialists Greg Battani and Robert Morgan, operations supervisor Josh Somers, PBIA operations manager Mark Siviglia and air traffic manager Ryan Warren received commendations for helping to clear the airspace, organizing emergency responses and instructing Darren Harrison of Lakeland to land the plane.

"What they were able to accomplish – what they were able to do – saved the lives of the people on that plane," Palm Beach County Mayor Robert Weinroth said of the men.

Well i will try this again since the I didnt have anything that looked remotely close to the captcha on my keyboard and the voice sounded like someone eating three doughnuts at once while talking through two pillows!!!!  :-)
Flightwise.com used to have a feature called something like Live Atc log. With this you could view things like departure time, atc boundary crossing times, atc reroutes and the location of the aircraft at the time, directs and the location of the aircraft at the time, altitude changes and location and speed restrictions. This site does not seem to work much anymore and this option is gone. Does anyone know where I can find this information?

The KROA Gnd/Twr/App feed has a problem with the tower frequency.  It has low volume and choppy unreadable audio. The other frequencies on the feed are good.
