Aviation Audio Clips / 22 Nov: From the KCNO and KLGB archived feeds
« Last post by GeoffSM1 on November 22, 2017, 05:44:38 PM »
An alert on Flightradar24 earlier this evening reported that Bonanza N5043C was arriving at KLGB squawking 7600 (radio fault). I checked the archives for any interesting transmissions. Although I found only  the briefest of references to the flight in question there were a number of other transmissions which attracted my attention.
Audio file attached (begins with a short section from the Chino archive).

Although of no relevance in the context of the attached audio, the following link to the Chino Air Museum web site may be of interest to those who are not familiar with it -

I can’t claim to be an authority on French legislation but given the number of feeds from France available on here it seems unlikely there is a similar blanket prohibition to what we regrettably have in the UK.

Aviation Audio Clips / 20 Nov: AC342 Diversion to YYC

YVR-->YOW. Hydraulic issue.

Many thanks to whoever hosts the Edmonton Center receiver at YBP! Couldn't have gotten most of the audio without it.

Thanks! Saw Twitter chatter about this and was wondering if we had enough coverage in the Côte d'Azur to pick anything up. Does France have any weird laws regarding listening into ATC transmissions? Thought I saw somewhere that was the reason there are no receivers at CDG. Then again, I could just be blabbering on about nothing...

The flight diverted to Nice due to a cargo fire warning.

The first section of the audio clip is taken from the Marseille Control Sector K1 archive. At the end of this  section, ATC handed off the aircraft to Nice Approach on 128.2 but this frequency is seemingly not being covered on LiveATC. After a brief silent period, the second section of audio is from the LiveATC Nice Approach archive listed as 124.175. There are no transmissions from the KLM aircraft in this section. Furthermore, there is no related audio available in the Tower feed archive.

Listener Forum / Re: YBCV? Down for a Month now
« Last post by acarsuser on November 21, 2017, 06:59:08 AM »
Does anyone know the feeder for YBCV?  It's been putting out a  dead carrier for over a month?    Their's not many Glenn Hauser's in this world maybe the feeder does not know.  The flightrader24 YBCV site is functioning and I assume in a large town like Charleville pop about 3500 the feeders would be the same?

CLEARWATER, Fla. (CBS12) — Two deputies in Florida watched as a small plane crashed right in front of them. Their dashboard cameras recorded the plane, seconds before it went down.
The deputies rushed over to help the pilot and passenger. The two people walked away from the crash just fine. No one on the ground was hurt.
What caused the plane to crash remains under investigation.
