World Pilots’ Day is celebrated on April 26, recognising the contributions of pilots who safely connect millions of passengers around the world every year.

It is believed to have originated from an official day commemorated by the Turkish Airlines Pilots’ Association – with the date picked to commemorate the first flight by a Turkish pilot – but has since been part of wider celebrations commemorated by the International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA).
