Title: World Flight Planner
Post by: bcrosby on July 14, 2010, 01:53:34 PM
I would just like to let you guys know of a software project I've been working on for the past two years has finally launched.

It's a web based flight planning software with a focus on Canadian airspace.

I figured some forum members here are pilots who fly in Canada and might be interested in this product.

Check out the website (http://www.worldflightplanner.com) for more information.

I really like the terrain features for planning mountain flights. That looks very neat.

I have used the AOPA online planner one time, since my dad subscribes. I just used it to compare to my pencil-and-paper plan for a solo cross country as a student. http://www.aopa.org/flight_planner/index.html?PF (http://www.aopa.org/flight_planner/index.html?PF)

It seemed to work well, but it's not free either.

Just a heads up, for any Canadian pilots that are COPA members, it looks like you get a $25/year discount on the OP's software.

Anyways, thanks for the link. I'm going to look into it and let my dad and brother see too.

That's what I was saying.

"Current COPA members are eligible for a discount of $25 off a yearly subscription" -From the website

It's $24/year if you subscribe monthly.

Also, this flight planner is $10 per month without any discounts. AOPA's flight planner is available with the $39/year subscription, which includes the magazine as well as other features.
