Request for Controller Participation in a Study on Interruptions
« on: December 09, 2011, 04:34:09 PM »
Hi,

Myself and a graduate student Meshael Alqahtani are investigating how air traffic controllers manage interruptions, particular interruptions driven by communications between a local control tower and radar controllers working the surrounding airspace.

We are looking for current or recently retired (< 10 years) air traffic controllers to participate in an interactive online design session some time within the next week.  You would spend up to 2 hours with Meshael going through whats called a participatory design / cognitive task analysis exercise on some of the initial design ideas for possible changes to the VSCS interface.   You will need access to a computer and headphones.

A formal 'recruitment' request is attached and it has some more details but in essence it would be a series of interview questions, and walking through some of her initial prototypes to get feedback and suggestions.

If you are interested, please contact Meshael at cressets_blog@hotmail.com to coordinate more details.

Thanks,
