PHL city tour in class bravo
« on: November 10, 2011, 09:19:06 PM »
Did anyone fly VFR over Philly downtown in class B? Do they do something similar to KBOS "City Tour"? I will be in Lancaster and wanted to check it out.

Who do I talk to (I'd guess KPHL TRACON)? What's the typical route? What else do I need to know?

Thanks for advice!

I have never flown directly over Philly, but I have flown around the Southern NJ area. I would assume you would talk to Philly tower on 118.5 at 2000ft or below over downtown and North departure/approach on 124.35 above 2000.

Thanks, gboro flyer, I'll be coming from west and after flying over the city center want to depart southeast towards KWWD. I was thinking flying down the Schuylkill and then Delaware river but that puts me kind of close to KPHL. I was wondering if they have some kind of preferred route for VFR flyovers.
