Title: Permission to Engage
Post by: Twocky61 on August 24, 2017, 10:45:47 AM
During 9-11 military pilots were given permission to engage with any aircraft flying in the total US no fly zone if an aircraft was flying towards a major populated city and failed to comply with instructions from a military pilot to land

All incoming flights were diverted to Canada

I have emailed the US military asking if any aircraft were shot down (engaged with). No surprise they denied any aircraft was shot down

I have it from a US commercial pilot who also flies for the National Guard at weekends that THREE aircraft WERE shot down

Naturally the US military will deny this

Does any commercial/military pilot in this forum know if three aircraft were actually shot down?

Thanks guys & gals
