Title: General Aviation Q&A site
Post by: jrdioko on June 30, 2011, 10:16:49 PM
If you aren't familiar with it, Stack Exchange is a collection of Q&A sites where people can ask questions, post answers, and vote on the quality of questions and answers that have been posted. They started with some technical sites, but they are now branching out into Q&A sites in other areas (finance, photography, etc.).

A site on "General Aviation" has been proposed, as a way for pilots, pilots-in-training, or enthusiasts to ask and answer questions. For the site to go live, they require a certain amount of users to "commit" to using the site during its beta period. I think a General Aviation Q&A site would be a great idea, especially if it's the same high quality as their existing sites. So I thought I'd spread the word here, to see if any other GA enthusiasts would be interested in a site like that (and I hope spreading the word isn't against the forum rules?).

Neat find. If it gets any level of traffic, it could become a nice way for GA pilots to help educate the general community about various GA issues.  I committed.

For anyone that happens to stumble across this thread and is interested, the URL has changed (the old proposal has been replaced with a new one):
