Fed Ex 705
« on: July 08, 2019, 03:48:04 AM »
I am currently streaming off YT, the audio ATC of the Federal Express flight. flying from Memphis to San Jose which was hijacked involving flight 705 April 7th 1994. ATC Paul Gandelino at Memphis Centre handled the situation exceptionally.

The captain rolled the Boeing DC 10 aircraft to disorientate the hijacker

So a question to your engineer guys:

What is the maximum stress level, on any aircraft. which, if you exceed that stress level recommended by an aircraft manufacturer such as yourselves would such as any aircraft would lose wings & obviously crash

It's a wonder the wings didn't break with the DC10 basically executing acrobats in the air, whether yourselves or any other manufacturer such as Airbus

A barrel roll can be performed without causing any abnormal load on the airframe.
You can fly a barrel roll without any significant g-forces.

I'm not a manufacturer obviously and not an engineer. But these facts are common knowledge.

You can also look up Design Load Factors:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Load_factor_(aeronautics)#Design_standards

This should give you an idea what aircraft can handle.

Thanks Wiedehopf

Boeing, so far, have only emailed me auto response

I'm in Seattle in a few months

I wonder if Boeing would show me around their facility; that would be awesome :)

Careful there. That tour around the facility may only include the parking lot, as most of their latest products are sitting there.
