Cross-coupling options
« on: June 20, 2020, 10:46:56 AM »
Here's a weirs question to IFR controllers, re: cross-coupling. Some controllers use it all the time  while others prefer not to combine 2 + frequencies. Is it a personal preference, or a timing issue while changing shifts?

I did see 2 pictures of a comm box from Toronto Centre on another forum, which helps understand how the setup works. Is it a matter of accessing a ton of menus, per sector to combine thw freqs?

Just curious, thanks.

Here's some interesting info on it.

Thanks for that link. I read that info a lonf time ago. Specifically speaking, I am referring to CZYZ, northern airspace. The controllers change shifts every hour. Controller A has 4 freqs cross-coupled, while controllers B, C, and D don't have the cross-couple enabled, with the same wx and traffic flow.
