Atlanta Airport SIDs
« on: January 16, 2011, 03:17:33 UTC »
Unfortunately, there isn't an Atlanta feed which can answer my question: what are the most common SIDs out of Atlanta? I've been searching around the internet and can't seem to find anything.

Regards,
Alex

I think this is what you want.
go here to Airnav.com  http://www.airnav.com/airport/KATL  Scan down towards the bottom of the page, you can download what you want.
You can listen here   www.airtrafficatlanta.com

Do you have any idea what "over the football" means? The Tower will clear an aircraft to take off "over the football..." Is this a nickname for a SID?

FUTBL is a waypoint west of the airport.  Download the SID from airnav and look just west of the airport.

If you're flying a 757 (as your nickname implies), I haven't got anything useful for ya....but if you're flying a piston, I can tell you that I got the Atlanta 5 SID when I flew out of there a few weeks ago.

I spent quite a bit of time wading through SIDs the night before, and it appeared that everyone one of them was for turbojets or turboprops only, other than the ATL5. So, when they assigned me the ATL5, I was not shocked.
