Already fix-wing And Working on helicopter wondering how someone learns the transition to helicopter ATC . everyone assumes we already know but what are the rules for flying into airports by helicopter . wha deos Atc expect? and anyone know of any recorded IFR flights by helicopter love to hear some

That's a good question. Helicopters can be subject to the same procedures and guidelines as fixed-wing aircraft in the airport surface area. There is also a separate section in the FAA order 7110.65 which governs helicopter operations. It's a good read and will definitely help you understand what to expect from ATC and what ATC expects from you.

First rule is to always identify yourself as 'Helicopter xxx'.
Regarding IFR operations, expect to be handled as a fixed wing aircraft until you're VFR over the runway.
