Aloha Bob JAX Enroute
« on: November 15, 2016, 09:44:14 PM »
So I was flying today and heard Aloha Bob at the radios on 118.175 and we got to talking about a picture I saw of him and asked if I could some how pass it on to him. Any one know of a way to reach out to him. I have been trying to the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon but its not working very good on facebook. Feel free to send me a PM oh how I might be able to reach out to him!

Thanks!

Let's go back to your flight.

When you were handed off to him and you checked in on frequency, he should have responded with your callsign, followed by his position on frequency. Was his position as an approach or departure controller?

For example, "November 123 Alpha Bravo, Jacksonville Approach", "Southwest thirty-two, Jacksonville Departure", or something similar?

If so, that would put him at the TRACON level, not en-route. If he identified as "Jacksonville Center", then we would he at the en-route level.

118.175 is listed as a Jacksonville "Approach" frequency. Appears to be a satellite sector as it covers the Gainesville area.
