ZTL and ZDC Greensboro area transmitters...
« on: June 08, 2005, 09:01:50 PM »
I'll soon be moving to GSO, NC and was considering hosting a feed for the area, and I was curious if anyone knew the location of the ZTL and ZDC transmitters for the area and for the GSO APP/DEP transmitters. Considering I dont have a home picked out there, it'd never hurt to try and live close to these transmitters to provide some feeds. If anyone wishes to not disclose the location on the public forum, feel free to drop me a PM to let me know, or to get my AIM sn to talk to me if your a lil wary about it...

That would be such a great feed to do. Unfortunately wouldn't know the whereabouts of the transmitters but do know that Atlanta center has a transmitter there that covers 124.425(high sector) which I believe covers NE ATLANTA DEPARTURES

Yep, the one Mike said is one. There is 128.8 also, that's low alt.

i totally missed that one Ed thanks and I believe also that on 124.425 we would hear FL 240-340 traffic leaving BOS/HFD/EWR/LGA/and PHL traffic transiting to the SE mainly like CAE/GSP and the Central and West coast cities in Florida

737NG what other freq's have you programmed that are in your scanner down there ? Do you get WASH ARTCC(118.925,132.225) and ATL ARTCC(125.025-Super High,132.975-super high,126.775-high, and 120.725-high) ? If you monitor regularly what High Frequency/frequencies are the ATL MACEY and WOMAK ARRIVALS handled on from the WASH ARTCC boundary until they check in to ATL CENT near the ODF VOR ?  nOT to bombard you with these questions but would be appreciated if you can do so also by telling me what HIGH/SUOPER HIGH level frequwncies NE traffic going into WASH ARTCC are used before handoff

No worries... I kept track of almost all the freqs handed off from GSO APP up to ATL CTR H for a 3-5 day period while I was staying up there (I'm down in FLL until around mid Aug when im up in GSO to stay) , when I'm back up there, i'll do some more "research" into how things work. This is what I was able to pickup in those days tho...

GSO APP/DEP and ATL CTR GSO H/L handed off to DC on freqs...

135.2
133.72
124.05
134.025
118.92

GSO APP/DEP and ATL CTR GSO H/L handed off to ATL CTR on freqs...

132.975
120.425
125.15
133.15
134.55

I was also able to find out GSO APP/DEP (SFC-12K) operates on 5 freqs almost daily as opposed to the 2-3 posted on AirNav...

126.6
125.6
118.5
124.35
120.9

thanks for the info and whenever you get a chance again whenever you do can you listen a bit when you get back for more ATL CENT frequencies. I have a sister in CLT area that I may visit soon so I can listen to when I am down there. Trying to confirm the following frequencies(125.625,123.725,124.375,and 134.07) and maybe JAX ARTCC frequencies if you can recieve them of 127.875,133.625,124.075,and132.475. Again when you get a chance would also like to chat with you if you can drop me an e-mail at my e-mail address. Thanks for the info though it was greatly appreciated
