The Flight in question was Comair 6435 from KLGA to KCHS.

They diverted to KMYR the smell of smoke was present in the cockpit.

If a CRJ catches fire, does it smell like bacon grease?  :-P

No seriously, cockpit smoke is nothing to laugh at.  Good to see they made it down with no further complications.
