KIWA technical issue, not down...
« on: February 04, 2024, 22:35:16 UTC »
I know we are not supposed to report when a airport is down but what about other technical issues?  If your automatic monitoring system only monitors for outages it would not detect an issue like this.  I listen to KIWA in Mesa, AZ often and a couple weeks ago the ATIS frequency started bleeding through to the other frequencies at times making them unreadable.  Maybe the system needs a "reboot" or something?

Thanks.

There is a possibility that the LiveATC antenna was moved to a different location by the feed provider, a location closer to the ATIS transmit antenna. That could cause the ATIS bleedover that can be heard.  LiveATC is aware of this issue.
Hopefully it gets resolved as soon as possible.
