UPS 9220 from KONT to KPDX with about 10 minutes left to arrival tells tower that "they've decided they want us to come back." So the tower gives vectors and flight plan to KONT and turns them over to Seattle Center....
Just curious if anyone has ideas "What for?" :?

My assumption would be the aircraft left without its full payload, and UPS had more to go out there. It would actually end up cheaper for them to fly back an refly it...(I guess you can check if he went back?) than to land, unlaod, and repeat...but thats just a guess.

but now i'm curious, how you do that with the fuel?
he almost complets his flight and than returns, how is that possible with fuel??
And yes, probably he forgot cargo.
