Not sure where they are going to land, YYZ, YKZ or YTZ.

Right now they are circling over Lake Ontario (near YTZ) burning off fuel before they land.

Wish we had a YTZ feed :)

Aircraft touched down at YKZ. It's on the feed/archive, but nothing too exciting. Callsign was "snap 1"

Bonanzas have electrically controlled flaps and gear.  Therefore a failure of the electrical system will take out these two systems as well.  Perhaps this Piper has the same setup.

However, in the case of the the Bonanza there is a manual gear extend handle for just such on occasion, but the handle requires about 60 turns and is located in an awkward spot behind the front passenger seat on the floor.  Definitely something to be done at a slower speed and hopefully with another person onboard to use as the gear-extend motor.  :)

It looks incidents like that happens once a while but this time being picked up by the media..  and there is no exciting news around that time so they make it headline

Nice Soft Field landing Video footage as seen on TV

And of course, the media want this to sound exciting but nothing really happened..

Also, an 'excellent' article (I think) on the whole event.

BTW..  Google is really fast..  indexed up to the 2nd post in this thread within an 30 minutes after posting .. (I was goggling "SNAP-1" while this event is unfolding and this post came up)
