Title: What is your dream ATC Feed?
Post by: Breton on June 24, 2006, 09:45:27 PM
Or any others

ATL is pretty well served by another site, and I heard STL's new runway isn't anywhere needed since American reduced STL service, so I'll go with the always chaotic ORD.

Maybe some ZHU? Perhaps PHX.
Title: Re: What is your dream ATC Feed?
Post by: PHL Approach on June 25, 2006, 10:20:53 PM
1.PHX/ P50
2.PHX/ P50
3.PHX/ P50
4.PHX/ P50
5.PHX/ P50

You get the idea... But saying my top 5 or 10 or rather 15 "most wanted" isn't gonna have them magically appear.

Seriously though, isn't PHX the next largest airport after ORD in terms of sites needing feeds?

None of the above. ;)

I'd say...

LAS/L30
LAS/L30
LAS/L30
LAS/L30
LAS/L30

Honourable mention: OMA/R90

there used to be an OMA/R90 feed through NATCA, but that went belly up years ago.

Besides.. where else are you going to find simultaneous parallel approaches to intersecting runways in Class B airspace? :) (btw.. don't answer that.  :-P )

I think I remember someone a while back mentioning they were moving to Vegas and they could start a feed. Don't remember any details though.

I changed my mind though- Vegas before Phoenix

2. Tokyo-Narita
3. London Heathrow

Definately  Heathrow, and Gatwick

Unfortunately, unless you change a near 60 year old law, EGGL/EGGK.. basically anything UK will never come up as a feed.

I'd also like to see YMML and CYVR feeds as well.

Well an ATL feed would prove useful, they have the usual Airbus 340 from South African Airways pulling out almost daily I believe.  Wouldn't that feed serve the same purpose........plus a whole lot more?

I'd like a LIVE feed tho and of course, Heathrow would be great but y'know ....

AFAIK, there are at 3 different newcastle int'l airports - YWLM (Newcastle Int'l, NSW Australia), FANC (Newcastle Int'l, South Africa), and EGNT (Newcastle, UK). If you're talking UK, it won't happen unless they repeal the law outlawing the use of scanners and recording/rebroadcasting the transmissions. There is a thread here on EGLL and why it was taken down. Search for it and read that thread. The same would apply to EGNT. For the rest, Australia isn't as stringent, so a feed could be made for it, depending on if anyone there wants to do it. I don't know about South Africa.

I'd like ATL.  My CFI said that the few times he's flown in there the controllers were going bananas over everything and that it has a reputation for that sort of behavior.  Another cool feed would be Area 51

My "dream" would be to get the Toronto feed back.

I may be able to get a CYVR feed up from January-June 2007. I'll check further. A close friend of mine will be there during that time staying in an apartment that is barely a mile from the airport.
